Launched on the occasion of The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, h the guidebook “Addressing Climate, Peace and Security Programming in UN Peace Operations in Africa”, which was prepared with the generous support of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
This guidebook aims to provide UN Peace Operations personnel with the needed tools to identify, address and respond to the climate, peace and security nexus in a holistic manner, and bridge the programming gap between the relevant UN missions’ mandates on climate change and on-ground peacebuilding efforts in the continent.
This guidebook was developed as part of the training course “Climate, Peace and Security in the Context of Peace Operations” which was conducted in implementation of one of Egypt’s pledges presented during the United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial in Accra in December 2023, with the generous support of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
