As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Nigeria, a delegation from the Nigerian Institute for Security Studies (NISS) is participating in a training course on governance, security and sustainable development in Cairo from 7 to 11 June 2021. The training--organized by the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding; the Egyptian Peacekeeping Operations Training Center of the Ministry of Interior; and the Egyptian Agency for Development Partnership--comes in light of the common challenges facing the two countries.
The course program includes meetings with relevant Egyptian officials and a field visit to the National Institute of Special Forces Training to exchange experiences and lessons learned from the Egyptian experience in achieving security, combating terrorism and promoting comprehensive development. Participants include senior officials from Nigeria's security and regulatory agencies.
The opening ceremony took place at the Egyptian Peacekeeping Operations Training Centre on 7 June 2021 with the participation of senior officials from the Egyptian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo.
