Cairo, Egypt -- CCCPA is hosting the three-day 7th Annual Training Implementation Workshop for the African Standby Force (ASF) from 18-20 May 2015. The annual training workshop is held in cooperation with the African Union Peace Support Operations Division (AU PSOD).
The workshop aims to provide training guideline standards for the Regional Standby Forces (RSFs) and harmonize and coordinate training activities in accordance with ASF Training Policy and Directives. It also offers the opportunity to engage with partners, particularly the European Union, on the status of funding for continental and regional training activities. This year, the workshop also intends to engage with the African Peace Support Trainers’ Association (APSTA) and Training Centers of Excellence to review the report of the ASF Training Needs Analysis.
Thirty-five participants will attend the workshop, representing the following affiliations: AU Commission, ECCAS (FOMAC), EASFCOM, ECOWAS, NARC, SADC, APSTA, AMISOM Training Staff and several training institutions as well as self-sponsored partners.
The workshop comes in line with CCCPA’s mission to train African peacekeepers and peacebuilders and capacitating national, regional and continental organizations working in the field of peace and security.
