Cairo, Egypt - CCCPA, and the London-based INGO International Alert recently conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Conflict Analysis and Conflict Sensitivity. The participants were mainly selected from the pool of trainees who attended the two basic Conflict Sensitivity Courses organized in February 2015, representing represent academia, civil society and civil service affiliations.
The key topics covered were adults as learners; training methodologies and learning styles; conflict, violence and peace concepts; and tools to conduct conflict analysis and understand conflict sensitivity. Assignments were divided between the trainees to develop necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes. Participants were also supported on improving presentation techniques and communication skills.
A total of 15 trainers were certified at the end of the course. Outstanding trainees will be selected to assist in providing the basic Conflict Analysis course starting on May 25, 2014. The course, which took place from 3 to 7 May comes under the Project "Enhancing the Capacity of Local Actors in Efforts to Improve Peace and Stability in North Africa, the Sahel and Great Lakes Partners", funded by the Government of Japan in cooperation with UNDP.
