Cairo, Egypt – The 23rd Annual Conference of the IAPTC was successfully concluded on 14 September 2017, with a ceremonial handover of the Association’s presidency to CCCPA by the Peace Support Operations Training Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The presidency of the IAPTC is responsible for managing the affairs of the association for a one-year period. The president specifically safeguards and promotes the concept and purpose of the IAPTC. He/she also chairs and manages the planning and conduct of the annual conference.
The IAPTC is a voluntary association of centers and institutions working on peacekeeping research and training. Since its inception in 1995, more than 90 institutions have contributed to the work of the IAPTC. The Association aims to promote better understanding of peacekeeping, its means and ends, and the different types and mechanisms used for peacekeeping training. To achieve this, the Association convenes an annual conference. As of 2017, CCCPA assumed the role of the Secretariat of the IAPTC, and will continue to play this role for five consecutive years.
