CCCPA Conducts 2nd Gender, Peace and Security ToT Course
26 March 2015
Cairo, Egypt - CCCPA Technical Advisor Ambassador Mahmoud Farghal concluded the Gender, Peace and Security Training of the Trainers (ToT) course on Thursday 26 March 2015. This was the second ToT course in the series of training courses on mainstreaming gender in peacebuilding.
The purpose of such ToT trainings is to build a pool of qualified and knowledgeable trainers for CCCPA to use in future training courses and to provide sustainability for course concepts.
The course is dedicated to participants who’ve been trained in either a basic gender course or gender module, and have shown an exceptional understanding of the key concepts and possess the ability and attitude to deliver a future training; the participants are selected by both CCCPA and CMCFinland.
The five-day classroom based course is designed for 21 participants. The participants are divided into small groups in order to work on the pedagogical foundations of the course curricula, facilitate the learning process of adult learners and develop exercises to enhance learning in the context of mainstreaming gender in peacekeeping and peacebuilding. The material is facilitated by experts from both CCCPA and CMCFinland.
The training was part of an ongoing commitment to enhance mainstreaming gender in peacekeeping and peacebuilding in North Africa under the project entitled "Capacity Building Project on Mainstreaming Gender and UNSCR 1325 in North African Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding Architecture". The project is being implemented by CMC Finland and CCCPA.
The course was held in Cairo at the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel.
