Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing--in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD) and CCCPA--a high level meeting on peace, security and prosperity in the Red Sea region, to be held from 11-12 December 2017, in Cairo, Egypt.
The meeting titled “Peace, Security and Prosperity in the Red Sea: Towards a Regional Cooperation Framework”, will be the first of its kind in Africa and the Arab world to address common challenges and opportunities in the region. It will provide an invaluable opportunity for states bordering the Red Sea to discuss economic development, environment cooperation, and peace and security in the region. The meeting will also draw on lessons learned and best practices from other sea basin cooperation mechanisms with the aim of developing future platforms for dialogue and cooperation in the region.
The event will bring together high-level experts directly involved in economic, environmental political, and security issues from the bordering states, as well as stakeholders engaged in the Red Sea region, including representatives from regional and international organizations and the diplomatic community in Egypt.
