Cairo, Egypt – CCCPA organized its first training course for senior Egyptian diplomats on “Facing the Media” from 20-21 December 2017.
The two-day course aims to enhance the skills of Egyptian diplomats in dealing with the press as well as overcoming sensitivities during TV interviews and press conferences. It covers topics such as preparedness for press conferences (list of invitees, press-kit, key messages, addressing questions) and preparedness prior to TV interviews (profiling, setting, audience, key message).
The training consisted of theoretical and practical sessions. Participants conducted mock press conferences and TV interviews covering a wide range of topics, such as bilateral and multilateral relations, terrorism and human rights. Twenty-two diplomats attended the training.
The training comes as part of the current UNDP project funded by the Government of Japan, “Consolidating Peace, Security and Stability in Africa III– 2017-2018”.
