In cooperation with CCCPA, the Institute of Diplomatic Studies hosted a lecture by H. E. Amb Téte António, Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, within the framework of his visit to Cairo, on 31 March 2022. The lecture shed light on Angola’s successful experience in the fields of conflict resolution and sustaining peace at home and abroad. The attendees included a range of key figures, veteran diplomats, parliament members, subject experts, academics, and the media.
Following the lecture, CCCPA Director-General Amb. Ahmed Abdel-Latif welcomed Minister António at the Center’s premises. The visit included an overview of the Center’s various programs and activities, which aim to build African capacities in the fields of peace and security as part of Egypt’s commitment towards strengthening peace and security and conflict resolution in the African continent. Amb. Abdel-Latif also highlighted the role of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development (CCCPA is its Executive Secretariat), noting the important partnership with the Biennale of Luanda --“Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace” (launched by Angola in 2019) as two African platforms working to advance sustaining peace and development in Africa.
On his part, Minister António conveyed his appreciation for CCCPA’s activities, stating that they reflect Egypt's pivotal role in supporting peace and stability in Africa. He also emphasized his aspiration to develop Angola’s collaboration with the Center and to benefit from its expertise and various activities in the field of peacekeeping and peacebuilding, in addition to strengthening the partnership with the Aswan Forum.
