Communications & Social Media Associate
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the CCCPA Director General, the Communications & Social Media Associate’s tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the communication and visibility strategy in line with the CCCPA’s outreach objectives and donor requirements, oversee the production of high-quality communications products;
  • Dissemination of all CCCPA news on social media platforms;
  • Prepare mass media for the project (print, electronic, video, podcasts, TV, etc.) including assistance with the preparation of press releases in consultation with Program Officers;
  • Manage, the content of CCCPA’s website in English, and coordinate translation of content into Arabic and French;
  • Operate CCCPA social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube) as assigned with a view to increase outreach and engagement. This includes consistent, accurate and timely CCCPA postings while ensuring that posts are relevant, engaging and shareable for the audience/follower.  Regular responses to posts, comments and messages will also be expected;
  • Generate innovative ideas for promoting CCCPA activities on online platforms;
  • Regularly monitor and analyze the trends and engagement on the CCCPA social media platforms;
  • Support and organize various visibility campaigns including fundraising, high-level meetings and awareness-raising in collaboration with CCCPA management;
  • Within the delegated authority, commission and manage consultants, and other relevant vendors;
  • Create a communication and visibility database with all documents translated, produced, relevant publications, training modules, etc.  Ensure adequate communication of the project’s products, deliverables, objectives and results to its key stakeholders and beneficiaries;
  • Replace other Communications colleagues during absences and share workload during periods of high demand;
  • Undertake other relevant communication-related tasks, as required.
Job Qualifications:
I. Education
University degree in political science, communications and media studies, international relations, economics, business administration, law, migration studies or equivalent is a must.

II. Work Experience
At least 2 years work experience is required for this job.  Previous relevant work experience communications is desirable.

III. Languages
Mastery of Arabic, and English is required. An additional language, especially French is an asset.

IV. Additional Competencies:
  • Proven note taking and writing ability;
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to act with tact, diplomacy, discretion and respect for confidentiality;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc);
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Proven ability to demonstrate initiative in dealing with a large volume of work under time pressure, setting priorities, organizing work independently while meeting deadlines and adapting to a constantly developing working environment;
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Proficiency in graphic design.

V.  Assessment Method
Evaluation of qualified candidates for this position will include a substantive assessment, which will be followed by a competency-based interview with CCCPA management.
